Background
In 1912, an Italian descendant arrived in Brazil to work on coffee plantations. She worked many years in the field seeking the best alternatives to produce good coffees. Her children dedicated their lives to their mother’s coffee business, and so, for five generations, the traditional dream and passion story of their family lives on. Together, their properties amount to 850 hectares and are highlighted in competitions, awarded for quality, and praised for actions towards sustainability and environmental awareness. This Rain Forest Alliance coffee is processed in a special manner unlike most. The beans are left to dry in the mucilage of the coffee cherry, absorbing the sweetness of the berry, and gaining a special honey characteristic.
